Overnight Camps
The YMCA of Southwestern Ontario operates two overnight camps - YMCA Camp Henry and YMCA Camp Queen Elizabeth. Central to our overnight camping philosophy is the belief that living in a group in an outdoor community creates an environment that allows children and youth to develop the five core values: Respect, Responsibility, Inclusiveness, Caring, and Honesty. Campers have the opportunity to play, learn, and grow in two incredibly unique and beautiful landscapes. Both camps are accredited by the Ontario Camping Association and incorporate the Camping Quality Recommended Practices in their programs and operations.
YMCA Camp Queen Elizabeth (CQE)
Located on the rocky shores of Beausoleil Island in Georgian Bay Islands National Park, Camp Queen Elizabeth is a leader in providing quality camping experiences for youth in a positive, supportive environment (since 1953). CQE specializes in longer programs that take advantage of our sparkling bay and Canadian Shield terrain. Through a wide range of activities, we encourage campers to challenge themselves and develop friendships that will last a lifetime. Overnight canoe and hiking trips are an integral part of the experience. These outtrips are a great opportunity for youth to experience the great outdoors as they learn outdoor living skills, environmental stewardship, and leadership skills.
YMCA Camp Henry (YCH)
Our newest overnight camp experience, located in the heart of Point Pelee National Park! Camp Henry is a place where kids can be themselves, make new friends, and tackle new adventures. No matter their interest or ability, Henry has something for everyone. Around the campfire and on the hiking trail, your child will build memories and confidence that lasts, supported by the Y's highly trained and caring staff. From marshlands, beaches to the Carolinian forest, YMCA Camp Henry offers unique environments for campers to learn, explore, and strengthen their connection to the natural world.
