Chatham YMCA Volleyball League
Welcome to the YMCA Adult Volleyball League - 2026-2027 Season
Planning is underway for the 2026-2027 YMCA Adult Volleyball season! We look forward to welcoming back our returning teams and players, as well as meeting new participants joining the league this year.
Returning Teams
Please watch for an email asking you to reply with:
- Your team name
- The night/division you played in last season
- Whether your team intends to return for the upcoming season
If your team is unable to return but individual players are still interested in playing, please provide their names and email addresses.
A list of returning or new players without a team will be kept and will do our best to help connect them with teams looking for additional players.
Registration Forms
Captains are encouraged to begin collecting player information and signatures in preparation for registration.

We are hoping to open registration as follows:
September 2-9, 2026 (Registration opens September 2 after 1:00 PM)
Mondays - Returning Teams only
Tues, Wed, Thurs - Returning and New teams
September 10-13, 2026: New Teams for Monday will be accepted subject to availability
Captains Meeting - Wednesday, September 16, 2026 | 6:30 PM Virtual meeting via Zoom or Microsoft Teams. A meeting link will be sent following registration completion.
Tentative Season Start Dates
- Women's Competitive (Monday): September 21, 2026
- Co-Ed Competitive/Recreational (Tuesday): October 6, 2026
- Women's Recreational (Wednesday): October 7, 2026
- Men's Competitive/Recreational (Thursday): October 8, 2026
Season Format
We are planning for:
- 20-week regular season
- Double-elimination playoffs (4-5 weeks, as required)
- Matches played in a best 3-of-5 set format for standings
- All 5 sets played each night, time permitting
- All matches played in Chatham schools
- Matches scheduled from 7:30PM-9:00pm and 9:00PM-10:30PM

Things to Know:
- Games will be based on a best 3/5 format, win by 2, capped at 27 during regular season. Playoffs will be best 3/5 format win by 2 and no cap
- Standings are calculated based on Match Wins, Set Wins, Points for and Points Against. Due to time constraints a 5th set is not always possible or limited to a score of 15. To keep standings fair, they are based on the scores from sets 1 to 4 of each match.
- Referees will be following the Volleyball Guidelines for Canadian Referees as outlined by Volleyball Canada: 2024-25_VC_Rulebook_EN_-_Final.pdf (volleyball.ca)
- All players must min 18 years of age and can only play for the team they are registered and have signed the Player Code of Conduct. No walk on players allowed, regardless of them being registered with another team in the league from any night. Minimum 6 - Maximum 12 players per team.
- NO SPECTATORS ALLOWED, including children and players from other league nights, only players registered to the schedule teams should be in the building. No propping any door open, for any reason, and no wandering the school.
